San Diego County Fires

There are a lot of big fires burning all over the county right now.

My heart goes out to the quarter million people evacuated from their homes right now. I'm so sorry for the people who have lost homes already.

I grew up in Montana, where we had fires all the time. It was a way of life. But the key difference is that they were forest fires. Emphasis on "forest." They might lose a few structures, but up there thousands upon thousands of acres can burn without causing a single person to evacuate. This is scarier than any fire I ever saw in Montana, even the ones I could see from my front yard. It's different when it's people's homes.

Keep safe, everyone.
